So I was banging on about it a couple months back, but I joined ranks with the mighty might Black Star Dub Collective of Pumpkin Records, brothers and collab partners Matt and Bo who run the label have been in bands as wicked as The Something Somethings and Dead Subverts and now with members from The Autonomads are making the UK shake with their urban politico dub style!! They are off on tour in France as I type and no doubt will shake the foundations of every club they play in!! BRRRRAP! Anyways to celebrate their tour heres a link to download the remix I did for their forthcoming EP, Ancoats in Dud! The original is a heavy heavy dub stomper, and the C-Rave remix I did is a summery DNB banger, either way your getting bass in your face london, reeewind! Haha! As usual, things have been quiet on the website, due to things being crazy-head-trippingly-hectic in the real world! I need to strike a balance! Anyways, plenty has been happening since the release of the EP at the start of June and I'll get to that eventually.. First and foremostly though Ive got to stop here and give a massive thanks to everyone who has bought the EP, LP or made a donation on riot tunes so far, in the current climate where music is easily accessible for free, the fact that you punx have helped me out and shown your support makes RIOTSTEP! pressing these things up all worthwhile! Thank you! Im all for free music, I think anyone should be able to get access to art, that enjoyment we take from it is part of what makes us human after all so I see artists as an essential public service, a powerful one at that which can ultimately effect positive change in the world. For that reason anything I do will always be available for free at Riot Tunes. However, I personally love holding a finished piece of artwork in my hands whether it be vinyl, CD, or even minidisc/laserdisc/cassette, and for me the press of a C-Rave CD is closure on the release so I can start working on the next one. As everyone knows pressing shit up costs money, regardless of your political beliefs or hatred of currency, this society currently functions on pounds and pence, so the donations on RiotTunes or from the RiotGear store which comes from all you guys to help cover these costs is indispensible!! So once again, thank you motherfuckers, you didnt have to buy it but you did and I commend you for that!!! Love and Peace!
